Dr. Adam Shaffer, DDS, MS
Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Shaffer is a board certified pediatric dentist. He earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA. He then obtained a Master of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Biology from UCSF while concurrently completing advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry at UCSF and at Children's Hospital Oakland.
Dr. Shaffer continues to stay involved in academia and is a former assistant clinical professor at UCSF in the department of pediatric dentistry and currently is a part-time faculty member at UCSF-Children's Hospital Oakland. He has lectured on topics ranging from oral sedation safety protocols to emerging non-invasive ways of treating dental caries ("cavities"). He additionally spends time treating underserved patients abroad, and has traveled to both Honduras and Fiji for dental outreach trips. He regularly takes continuing education courses on all phases of dentistry, as well as in pediatric dentistry consistent with keeping his status as a board certified pediatric dentist.

Born and raised in Alameda, California, Dr. Shaffer is proud to call the Bay Area his home. He enjoys running, cycling, snowboarding, and rooting for the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants. He also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with his wife, two children, and dog, Buster.
